I was asked to write about the individual books in more detail, about possible solutions to the - admittedly tricky question in this last week -, and about eligible entries to this last drawing.
Unsurprisingly, it was hard to find good answers for the give-away question without following the link in the initial post to my own blog, where all the individual books could be looked at in more detail. The first two examples are the answers I would have given myself:
On the left hand side you see the mini book that was standing in the lower shelf to the very right. It has a red goatskin spine, and covers from Leipzig patterned paper, just like this Quarter Leather Binding from my shop.Ich wurde gebeten, einige mögliche Antworten auf die Gewinnfrage der letzten Woche zu diskutieren, und auszuwählen, welches gültige Antworten waren.
Erst einmal vorweg: Vielen Dank für all die netten Kommentare! Es war eine große Freude den ganzen Monat über, immer wieder Kommentare zu lesen.
Nun zu dieser letzten Frage, die ja etwas kniffelig war. Wie nicht anders zu erwarten, war es schwierig, eine gute Antwort zu finden, ohne dem angegebenen Link zu folgen, und sich die Büchlein im Detail anzusehen.
Oben und unten seht ihr zwei mögliche Antworten, die ich persönlich am einfachsten fand': Im oberen Bild seht ihr links das Minibuch, das rechts unten im Mini-Regal stand, und rechts das Quarter Leather Binding with Leipzig Patterned Paper aus meinem Shop.
Here's another one, that I made to match: On the left hand you see the mini book that has the the same leather spine as its big brother. It has a covering paper (while the big Hashtag book) is covered with a book cloth - but I thought they would look similar enough.
Oben ist das zweite kleine Buch, das ich extra für diese Verlosung gemacht habe, mit seinem großen Bruder. Beide haben einen Lederrücken, und ein orange-rotes Cover. Allerdings ist das große Buch mit seiner Hashtag Bindung mit einem Buchleinen bezogen, während das kleine nur papierne Deckel hat. Und damit sind wir schon bei freieren Assoziationen angekommen, die mal mehr mal weniger schwer zu sein schienen. Jemand hat das güne Papier des Hefts, das da neben dem Mini Leipziger Büchlein steht, mit dem Smiley Orakel in Verbindung gebracht, viele haben erkannt, dass das Coptisch gebundene Büchlein auf dem Regal, Kapitalbänder wie das Artbook for Tea Lovers hat, jemand hat erkannt, dass meine Anleitung für koptische Kapitalbänder genauso gebunden ist, wie das chinesische Bücher Buch. - Alles gültige Antworten, natürlich.
Many mentioned that they recognized the similarity between the headbands of this mini book on the right, and the artjournal for tea lovers on the left. Some-one saw in the green pages of the little booklet second from the right in the lower shelf the green of the Smiley Oracle. One even knew that my instructions for Coptic headbands are bound like the mini book with the Chinese symbols. - All these are valid answers, of course.
I am surprised that many saw travel journals. Surprised because none of the tiny books come in a slipcase, and save the one with the headbands, none has a spine that looks like the travel journals. Several times people said they saw the red suede travel journal in there, one made a connection with the book with the red spine. I must admit that I have some difficulty seeing the similarity; but I don't want to be too hart, and I am willing to accept this as a valid answer. In the same spirit I am accepting the answers of those who saw the Warm Brown and Golden Journal, and the Crossed Structure Journals. Although I am not clear to which one of the small books they are referring to, I have some idea what they could have meant.
Ich war überrascht, dass mehrere Kommentare das rote Wildleder Reisetagebuch erwähnten, denn keines der kleinen Bücher hat einen Slipcase. Das Büchlein mit dem Kapitalband hat einen ähnlichen Rücken, aber könnte das wirklich gemeint gewesen sein. Ich vermute, es ist eher das Pamphlet mit dem Leipziger Papier gemeint. - Ich muss sagen, ich habe einige Schwierigkeiten, die Ähnlichkeit zu sehen. Aber naja, die Farben vielleicht... Ich will nicht zu streng sein, und akzeptiere das als eine gültige Antwort. Im gleichen Geist akzeptiere ich die Antworten derer, die das Warm Brown and Golden und das Crossed Structure Journal gesehen haben: Es ist zwar nicht so klar, was sie eigentlich meinen, aber ich habe eine ungefähre Vorstellung, was gemeint sein könnte.Außerdem haben viele das Purple Swirl Reisetagebuch erwähnt. - Das hat mich nun wirklich sehr gewundert, bis klar wurde, dass gar kein Buch, sondern die Schachtel gemeint ist. Irgendwo sollte ich aber wohl einen Schlussstrich ziehen, um nicht einfach alle Kommentare als gültige Antworten zu werten, und nach der Box haben wir nicht gefragt. Aber in der Tat habe ich da ein ähnliches Papier verwendet.
Then there were those that saw the purple swirl travel journal somewhere, and this gave me several moments of bewilderment - which book could have been meant by these comments?! Then someone mentioned the matchbox - of course! But I fear I have to draw a line somewhere, and this will it be: we didn't actually ask for the box.

Während ich für diese Verlosung das kleine Büchlein mit dem Gedicht drin gemacht habe, habe ich mich total in das Buch verliebt. Also habe ich eine kleine Edition davon gemacht, und mittlerweile ist sie auch gelistet, oben im Bild ist eines der Büchlein zu sehen.
