Tell us a little bit about what you make.
I’m a painter specializing in portraits and cityscapes in oil and acrylic. These days much of my work has to do with my adopted hometown of Munich: scenes from daily life, Christmas markets, people in tracht, Oktoberfest, and so on. In addition to my larger works, I paint several small (30 x 30 cm or less) ‘daily paintings’ per week, and they cover a wide variety of subjects. It’s these small works that I’ll be offering in my Etsy store.

What are some goals for your Etsy store?
I’d like to find a wider audience of collectors for my work, both in Germany and internationally. It’s so much fun to be an artist in the internet age, where our work can be seen by potential buyers all over the world.

What item has been a ‘best-seller’ in your Etsy store?
My Etsy store is brand new, but from other online selling experiences I can say that my small dirndl study paintings are by far the most popular. Here’s an example.


How would you describe your style?
Colorful, expressionistic, and a bit irreverent.

Is this your full time work?
Not my Etsy shop specifically, but art is my full-time job.

Where do you do your work?
At my home studio in Munich.

How would you like to see Etsy develop in Germany?
I’d like Etsy to continue to bring a wider audience to Germany-based artists and crafters.

What do you see as some of the benefits/potential benefits of being part of the German Etsy Street Team?
I think it offers a great opportunity to connect with other interesting creative folks in Germany.

Ich zeichne und male Voegel, gerne mit Aquarellfarben, Tinte oder Buntstift/Bleistift. Die Voegel sind immer auch ein wenig Fantasietiere.

Ich habe Freie Kunst studiert und baue sonst grosse Installationen und zeichne sehr viel.
Ich bin noch relativ neu bei Etsy und habe noch nicht viele sales, habe also auch noch kein Bild mehr als einmal verkauft.

Ich moechte etsy gerne zu meiner Vollzeitbeschaeftigung machen, das steht aber noch in den Sternen...im Moment arbeite ich zuhause an meinem grossen Schreibtisch, ich hoffe, bald kommt ein Atelier dazu.

Ich hoffe und wuerde mich freuen, wenn ich mich beim Germany Etsy Street Team an reger Unterhaltung beteiligen kann, ein Austausch ist so wertvoll. Auch hoffe ich, viele Gleichgesinnte zu treffen, vielleicht sogar in meiner Stadt!

Vernissage mit Oraber!

One of our seriously talented team members, Sri Maryanto, also known as Oraber is participating in a Vernisage of seven different artists called 'DIVERSITÄTEN' which will take place tomorrow night in München. From their Facebook Event:

Wir, das heißt insgesamt 7 Künstler verschiedener Nationalität, veranstalten am 24.06.2011 - 26.06.2011 die Ausstellung "Diversitäten". Die Diversitäten umfassen die verschiedenen Stilrichtungen der Künstler, wobei diese mit der Zwischennutzung der leeren Räume der ehemaligen Bankfiliale ein Zeichen für die Unabhängigkeit der Kunst setzen - die Kunst als Ausdruck von Diversitäten der Gesellschaft und als Ausweg aus dem Dilemma.
