What are some goals for your Etsy store?
Having just recently moved to Germany, I needed to find a new venue to sell my art as well as connect with the artist community here in Germany. Iâ•˙d like to sustain myself as a fulltime working artist and use Etsy to get my product recognized as well as create new relationships with fellow Esty artists.
What item has been a best seller in your Etsy store?
I am just getting started on Etsy, so I don't currently have a best seller. Currently I have only listed hand-sewn items such as baby bibs and quilted blankets. Ultimately I would like to soon post some of my other work, mixed media collages on paper and encaustic paintings.
How would you describe your style?
I am a multi-media artist and use many different materials and techniques. I am always wanting to find and work with new materials and to push myself to try new techniques, finding new relationships between different mediums. My work is colorful and often I play with the relationship of hard and soft or delicate and bold.
Is this your full time work?Yes, this is my full time work, and I hope to be able to support myself with my art here in Germany.
Where do you do your work?
I work from my home, and have a space for my office as well as sewing machine. I also have a separate studio dedicated to my painting and mixed media collage.
How would you like to see Etsy develop in Germany?I hope to see Etsy develop in Germany as much as it has in the States. Most people I have met here have never heard of Etsy, but with venues such as the Etsy Germany Street team I think it will gain some momentum and awareness.
What do you see as some of the benefits/potential benefits of being part of the German Etsy Street Team?
I think as an artist it is most important to have a community to relate to, share ideas, give feedback to each other and so on. This is especially important for me having just moving here and needing to rebuild a local community. German Etsy Street Team will be a great starting part for me, so thank you!
Wonderful post! I, too, would love to see etsy develop in German to a greater extent. The talent is here!
