Oktober Giveaway - 'Many Pink Dahlias' Belt from Zafran!

This month we have a fun giveaway from an Etsy Seller based in Basel, Switzerland: Zafran. Read on to find out how to win!

About the Item:
All my items are truly handmade using both digital and analogue tools. I create accessories that feature my own textile designs. I start by taking images with a Nikon D 60. These images are the pool and source of inspiration, that animates me to create my characteristic vivid and playful patterns.

From the beginning I've been working with a special kind of digital textile printing, that allows me to do all printing myself. This way I have full control of the entire manufacturing. The analogue part of the process is sewing, ironing and finishing.

This month I will give away a hip belt that's called „Many Pink Dahlias“. It's one size, 4 cm in width and it is finished with a touch of varnish to make it more durable. It features an image of a pink/ white Dahlia that I originally took two years ago - in the month of October. So I thought the belt would be perfect for the Etsy German Street Team October Giveaway.

Giveaway Rules:
To gain the belt, you need to do a little something. I need your help. This is my problem: I struggle whenever I write my item descriptions. It’s not the technical data like sizes, treatment and material of course. It’s the part that tells the juicy story about my creation. The part that a customer should get hooked on. The part that will appear in Google search results. These few important top rows. Every time I wish I could see the item through somebody else’s eyes.

And that's how you can help me. Go through my shop and find the item description that appeals to you most. Comment on this item: what is it that makes this item description particularly succeeded? What do you like about it?

The most inspiring and helpful comment will win a hip belt “Many Pink Dahlias” as an expression of my joy and gratitude. The giveaway will close on the 31 October and the winner will be notified by email. Please leave your email address in this way german(at)streetteam.com to avoid spam. Good luck

  1. I like the description for these gauntlets: http://www.etsy.com/listing/45047880/extra-long-printed-floral-gauntlets-arm

In it you point out that they "give any outfit a mysterious touch". This is the sort of descriptive detail that is good; it is important to include something that will make the customer imagine using the item, and imagine it in a good context. At the same time, you do not want to exaggerate and make excessive claims; in this description you strike the right balance.

  2. Hi Eva-marie,

I like most of the descriptions for your products.

I choose to highlight this pretty bow.

I think it is descriptive and and accurate. The only things I can say you can also afford to say it is a "felt bow". Naming the style it is perfect for is good, since it gets picked up by google. I hope this helps!

You know my email address already ;-)

  5. "This bow belt is the perfect accessory for this year's trendy 50's look with it's slim cut tops and wide skirts. Wear it around your waist over a tee or a shirt.

The black on white pattern reminds one of a leopard. The pattern is streaked with subtle pink. The bow is held by a pink bar. A goldish buckle fastens the belt in the back.

It's 2 inches wide and fits waist sizes from 29 to 32 inches.
If you need some customizing please let me know your width so I can add eyelets."

I like this description. It's true, the trendy vintage is back and the description is so precise. You show the versatility really well and explain perfectly the many uses! It's really important for you to widen the horizon of who the item appeals to and you really do that by accurately explaining the item and even making the people imagine themselves wearing it, which of course is necessary if you expect them to buy it. All in all, this is a fantastic description that certainly appeals to me and people of many ages witnessing the trendy '50s' fashion of this year and being able to mentally experiment with the many ways that they can use this product. Good job!

  6. Matching Rubber Lace Earrings and Necklace SIMPLICITY, lilac

Rubber lace necklace and earrings for the not-so-romantic girl. Liquid rubber in a vivid colour gives lace a prosaic and reduced twist. This is the jewelry you want to wear with casual urban apparel.

I agree and not in the same time because I love lace, bows, ruffles, etc. I'm a girly, girl, I guess. Lace makes anything much more feminine and romantic!
